Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm afraid I must be missing something. I have an amd64-specific bug in one of my packages, and I don't have an amd64 system. According to db.debian.org/machines.cgi, pergolesi is supposed to be an amd64 with developer access, but it looks like it's configured as i386. From a sid chroot:
pergolesi% dpkg-architecture DEB_BUILD_ARCH=i386 DEB_BUILD_ARCH_OS=linux DEB_BUILD_ARCH_CPU=i386 DEB_BUILD_GNU_CPU=i486 DEB_BUILD_GNU_SYSTEM=linux-gnu DEB_BUILD_GNU_TYPE=i486-linux-gnu DEB_HOST_ARCH=i386 DEB_HOST_ARCH_OS=linux DEB_HOST_ARCH_CPU=i386 DEB_HOST_GNU_CPU=i486 DEB_HOST_GNU_SYSTEM=linux-gnu DEB_HOST_GNU_TYPE=i486-linux-gnu This is even though /proc/cpuinfo shows it to have Opteron processor/processors: processor : 0 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD cpu family : 15 model : 5 model name : AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 240 stepping : 1 cpu MHz : 1394.743 cache size : 1024 KB fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 1 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 syscall nx mmxext lm 3dnowext 3dnow bogomips : 2792.88 TLB size : 1024 4K pages clflush size : 64 cache_alignment : 64 address sizes : 40 bits physical, 48 bits virtual power management: ts ttp processor : 1 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD cpu family : 15 model : 5 model name : AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 240 stepping : 1 cpu MHz : 1394.743 cache size : 1024 KB fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 1 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 syscall nx mmxext lm 3dnowext 3dnow bogomips : 2789.65 TLB size : 1024 4K pages clflush size : 64 cache_alignment : 64 address sizes : 40 bits physical, 48 bits virtual power management: ts ttp So, what am I missing? How do I get access to an amd64 system to fix this problem?
