Thomas thats an interesting read and I understand you've been struggling with Zookeeper for a while. The PMD stats are indeed a bit frustrating, as really what PMD records is technical debt, and ZK has quite a bit of debt built up. We've built a rather interesting service orchestration, called Ensemble[1], on top of Zookeeper, and would be very interested in adopting its maintenance in Debian.
