Absolutely not. Spreading rumors would be declaring something
without knowing, and not saying that it was something I just
heard of from a friend.

Here, I was just trying to check if what I heard was right, by getting
other opinions. That's a very big difference.

Now, I do understand that I would need to check it out by myself.
So that was useful, at least for me. :)
