Hi Andrei, > - purge lxdm (remove might do it as well, but just for good measure) > - reconfigure lightdm (to make sure display-manager.service symlink > points to lightdm.service)
Yes, indeed, there is a bug in the service file shipped by lxdm which breaks all other dms. Removing and hand adjusting the display-manager.service helped. Still, my question is open: > > Is there *any* way to *force* systemd to start lightdm ...? I mean, it seems there is no way to override what systemd believes is correct. Furthermore, systemd did respnd with Error: File exists which is not a very useful error message Norbert ------------------------------------------------------------------------ PREINING, Norbert http://www.preining.info JAIST, Japan TeX Live & Debian Developer GPG: 0x860CDC13 fp: F7D8 A928 26E3 16A1 9FA0 ACF0 6CAC A448 860C DC13 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-devel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
