I guess the discussion is over by now, but I still don't think this a valid argument. If you are the type of person that reads the subjects of ITP mails, you can still subscribe to the potential debian-itp list and get the same experience. In fact, in the beginning it would probably make sense to just subscribe to all current subscribers of debian-devel, and add it to the list of lists that DDs should subscribe to. The new list would have two major advantages: 1) easier filtering 2) potential more people joining d-d to discuss actual development, but aren't interested in ITPs. The digest would be basically the same as the wnpp digest that already exists. A short list of all subjects with links to BTS. You basically only need to change "X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-devel@lists.debian.org" to "X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-...@lists.debian.org" in the reportbug package and add a new list. - Stephan
