I can tell you how I am dealing with it: by leaving the project. I’m going to bring my "tarball fetish" to another distribution, as I can not stand being endlessly insulted by the "modern" team. While this is not my only reason for leaving, it plays a big part in the final decision. Less than one year as a DD has been enough to end the ~16 years love story I had with Debian.
