For me, I always default to copyleft and here's why: I'm not a scab.

Case 1: Some company is using my software

They might contribute back, release more libre software and so on.

Case 2: Some company avoids my software because of the license
(happened multiple times)

In that case they will have to implement it themselves, and will have
to pay someone to do it.

Basically not using copyleft you are using your privilege of having
free time to do hobby projects to put other developers out of work. It
goes against my moral values.

Of course now we have Case 3:

The company uses AI to copy paste the software, claiming it is not copyleft.

Which makes me think that there could be some value in not open
sourcing the test suite sadly.

> Do you know what will not help in any way with that fight? "Come use our
> copyleft software; it's poor quality and we rarely write code, but we have
> lots of moralizing scolds who will lecture you on what software you should
> be using until you die of old age."

What we are doing here is: "stop using this perfectly fine copyleft
software! We must be lab rats so that companies can get rid of it
without actually paying anyone to do this massive amount of work!"

I difensori della morale tradizionale sono raramente persone di cuore. Si è
tentati di pensare che essi si servano della morale come di legittimo sfogo
al loro desiderio di fare del male agli altri.
