Hi Simon and everyone,

Innovation is great, that is how we stay what we are.  Partial
architectures are extra work but can bear fruits as you explained. But.

I have made hundreds of uploads on packages that I am quite certain are
not needed in the supported use case for the i386 partial architecture,
and alltogether, I feel that it i386 issues cost significant amounts of
my "Debian time" without having the joy of seeing i386 users expressing
their satisfaction to still be able to do scientific computing with
up-to-date software on their machines.

I would appreciate if there would be easier way to turn off (and on)
i386 or any future new partial relesease without having to update
control fields and reupload a package and its whole dependency chain.
