I would like to introduce restmail (https://github.com/tonymet/restmail) and gauge community interest in packaging it for Debian. It's a useful tool for debian maintainers & developers for sending email (e.g., via bts, git send-email, mutt) that is ready for use today.
restmail is a sendmail-compatible CLI that sends email via Gmail & Outlook using official REST APIs, requiring minimal OAuth permission scope (no read access). restmail also preserves newline formatting for sensitive git patches (which are usually broken during copy-paste into web email clients). restmail is useful with `bts` and `git send-email` for sending text-format emails via your existing cloud email without smtp or proxies. For example, ❯ cat ~/.devscripts BTS_SENDMAIL_COMMAND="/home/USERNAME/go/bin/restmail -t" Packaging is currently in preparation. Repository: https://github.com/tonymet/restmail restmail is available for installation via binary packages on GitHub or by using `go install` of the source. Regards, Anthony Metzidis
