Hello Debian developers,

I would like to propose that you please accept the Northstar Web Browser
(Nordstjernen) into Debian Linux:
https://github.com/nordstjernen-web/nordstjernen-browser

ITP bug is here:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1142659

There are 3 variants:

Nordstjernen browser, main flagship browser, implemented in C:
https://github.com/nordstjernen-web/nordstjernen-browser

Northstar browser, minimalistic, implemented in C:
https://github.com/nordstjernen-web/northstar-browser

Southstar browser, implemented in Rust, less mature:
https://github.com/nordstjernen-web/southstar-browser

We hope you can please include Nordstjernen into Debian unstable as soon as
possible, and that some of these variants will be included in next Debian
stable for release in 2027.

The browser has GPL 3 license. We have ca 700 users in Windows store at
the moment.

I hope we can cooperate on the distribution on this web browser.

The Internet needs more web browser engine alternatives than just Chrome
and Firefox.

Northstar (Nordstjernen) browser is an independent, JIT-free, C-based
browser engine developed with a mission to build a secure, open, and
sovereign internet stack free from Big Tech monopolies.

Sincerely,
Andreas Røsdal
