I've been writing a copylefted manual with a working title of "The Free Software Cookbook" that may be published as a book by the FSF; it is a pragmatic guide to using Debian systems for non-programming and non-sysadmin activities, giving "recipes" for getting things done. I think it would be a good companion to Dale Scheetz's Debian Linux User's Guide, since the cookbook only assumes Debian as the installed distribution but does not describe package management or installation.
Anyway, I'm a few months away from completion, but Nils Lohner suggested I make a post about it on this list so that you folks are aware that the book exists, and will be coming out. If anyone wants to look at a working outline or offer suggestions, please send me email.
