Your effort is appreciated. You've gathered quite a bit of information here, and it covers a lot of ground. I think to make a document out of it, you'd need to get a better focus on who exactly your audience is, what they do and don't know already, and what the true purpose of your document would be. It needs some organization and proofing. For example, some parts sound like they're oriented to linux beginners, others to red hat users, and others to unix old hands.
