Package: release-notes Severity: minor Many of the references to URL's in the pdf release notes appear as their description (e.g. "bug tracking system") rather than their URL's. Particularly if someone prints out the document, they will be unable to determine the corresponding URL.
When I view the document inside iceweasel, albeit with the proprietary acroread plugin, I can not recover the URLs. They aren't visible on the screen, can't be captured by right clicking as far as I can tell, and clicking on the link produces the error "The plugin required by this 'URI' action is not available...." I don't know if pdf viewers have the same limitation. I think the best thing would be if the references automatically expanded to include both the description and the URL, e.g., "bug tracking system (http://bugs.debian.org). -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (990, 'stable'), (50, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
