Package: release-notes
Version: N/A; reported 2-february-2009
Priority: normal
There are some contents of the lenny (5.0) Release Notes which describe how to
upgrade from a 2.4 kernel.
IIRC, lenny does *not* include any 2.4 Linux kernel. Since only upgrade from
previous release (etch) should be documented I guess the following sections
should be removed:
- "Upgrading from a 2.4 kernel"
- "Potential problems" -> "5.1.2. Some applications may no longer work with a
2.4 kernel"
There are some other references about 2.4 kernels in other sections which
surely need to be purged. Those are scattered here and there such as the
the paragraph talking about 2.4 kernels in the "New utilities to generate
initrds" section.
Regards
Javier

Closing Lenny release-notes pending bugs, since the relevant patches have been
commited to SVN trunk and are published on line at
http://debian.org/releases/lenny/releasenotes
Sorry for the mass mail.
