Hello list,

I recently upgraded to squeeze and tripped over a bug in cron,

Basically a working, but somewhat invalid crontab user entry, silently stopped
working after the upgrade.

Since the bug won't be fixed, see below, IMHO it would be a good idea to make
our users aware of the problem.

So what is the procedure to add something to the release notes?

I found the debian-doc svn repository, but no package to report bugs against. Do
I need to send patches to this list?

Regards,

        Stefan

PS: Please CC me, I am not on the list.

Unfortunately this bug will have to remain open for the time being, the
amount of effort to fix it for cron-3.1, is too large to be justified,
as we are trying to get rid of cron-3.1.

For reference, this specific error is another instance of #533726.

Your reasoning is excellent -- it's only your basic assumptions that are wrong.
