Package: dpkg-dev
Version: 1.13.25
Severity: wishlist

Since dpkg-dev 1.10.11, which closed #191810, controllib.pl does provide
support for commented lines in debian/control, i.e. for lines whose
first character is '#'.

The feature is important, but neglected by most DDs since it is not
known that it's available. I believe it should be documented somewhere,
though I'm sure whether it should be documented in the documentation of
dpkg-dev or in the policy itself.

Could you please consider documenting such a feature in dpkg-dev or
divert the bug to the policy?

Many thanks, in advance,
Cheers.
