Package: dpkg-dev
Version: 1.14.16.6
Severity: wishlist
Hi!
It would be quite nice if dpkg-buildpackage grew a extra option to set what
targets
to be run.
I often manually invoke debian/rules $target to only do parts of the
build process, but now that dpkg-buildpackage has started to set up
magic environment vars, that might lead to different results.
I would like to see a dpkg-buildpackage --with(out)-rootcmd --target
$FOO
(maybe with shorter options)
That command sholud then do something like:
if(use rootcmd)
then
$rootcmd $rulesfile $target
else
$rulesfile $target
endif
With $rulesfile being obtained from -R and the other new options as
described.
