Hi,
Starting Samba daemons: nmbdstart-stop-daemon: nothing in /proc - not mounted?
(Success)
failed!
invoke-rc.d: initscript samba, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing samba (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
samba
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Please make it fail more gracefully or not fail at all. Thanks.
regards,
Holger

I don't think this is a bug, /proc needs to be mounted for s-s-d to be
useful. If you want to make dpkg proceed regardless on such a setup,
then please use a local policy-rc.d binary returning 101 for example.
Closing this bug (more info on the duped 490270).
