To make your life easier, I tared up my entire /var/lib/dpkg if you want to see what an old DB looks like: http://marc.merlins.org/tmp/dpkg-db.tar.gz (15MB) Note that I also have packages which got called -gargamel1 by make-kpkg which is indeed invalid too (kernel packages), but that's only a few of them and maybe I can hand edit the databases to put -1gargamel1 instead (or if your postinstall script could fix that too, that'd be awesome) Thanks, Marc -- "A mouse is a device used to point at the xterm you want to type in" - A.S.R.
