Package: dpkg-dev Version: 1.18.24 Severity: minor File: /usr/share/man/man5/deb-triggers.5.gz
Hi, the deb-triggers man page contains the following paragraphs: " The "-noawait" variants are only supported since dpkg 1.16.1, and will lead to errors if used with an older dpkg. It is thus recommended to add a "Pre-Depends: dpkg (>= 1.16.1)" to any package that wish to use those directives. The "-await" alias variants are only supported since dpkg 1.17.21, and will lead to errors if used with an older dpkg. It is thus recommended to add a "Pre-Depends: dpkg (>= 1.17.21)" to any package that wish to use those directives. " Since even jessie, our current stable, soon to be old-stable, ships a new enough version (1.17.27) I suggest dropping this paragraph in buster, so maintainers do not add any unneeded pre-depends because of this.
