Even better would be to change the spec for -sa/-sA/-sp to use a temporary directory for the orig unupack. Leaving aside the supposed merits of the new source formats, which I don't entirely agree with: it is not in general feasible to change to newer source formats. Someone doing QA work (especially NMUs), or a downstream, is often not in a position to change the source format. They need to be able to work with what they are given. Ian.
