Package: src:dpkg Version: 1.20.5 Severity: minor symbols files with more than one space between the symbol name and the minor version are rejected. This should either be documented in deb-symbols(5), or accepted in symbols files.
while looking for the documentation, I saw that dpkg-gensymbols(1) refers to deb-symbols(5) for the format, however comments in symbols files are only documented in dpkg-gensymbols(1).
