Package: dpkg Version: 1.4.1 The dpkg source package is missing the configure script and the compile process is dependent on debian scpecific utilities. This makes it hard to build on a non debian system. dpkg-deb for example is needed to unpack .deb files and should be easy to compile on non debian systems.
