Package: dpkg
Version: 1.4.0.34

Dpkg segfaults when doing --purge on a package whose directory (of
config files for example) has been already removed manually. I know this
should not be done by sysadmins, but neither should the packager segfault
in this case. Recommended action in --purge should be:

        a) remove directory/config file *if it exists*
        b) remove package even if a) failed (but warn that config files
have been removed by another agent)

        Regards

        Javi
