Package: dpkg-dev Version: 1.6.1 The dpkg-dev package installs a file /usr/lib/emacsen-common/packages/install/emacsen-common-install which tries to compile /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/dpkg-dev/debian-changelog-mode.el during the install process of emacsen-common. The latter file is, however, not present. This prevents emacs from installing unless the dpkg-dev packages is first removed.
All other packages using /usr/lib/emacsen-common/packages/install/ install a file named after the package. dpkg-dev seems to do this very differently... I've encountered this problem while doing a fresh install of potato.
