I want to bring bug #61668 to your attention. I've fixed the symtom, but not really fixed the problem.
It seems that if a .orig.tar.gz unpacks into a directory that is mode 555, dpkg-source then bombs. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/tmp/f>apt-get source xtet42 Reading Package Lists... Done Need to get 0B/40.8kB of source archives. dpkg-source: extracting xtet42 in xtet42-2.21 dpkg-source: failure: unable to rename `xtet42-2.21.orig.tmp-nest/xtet42-2.21.orig' to `xtet42-2.21.orig': Permission denied Unpack command 'dpkg-source -x xtet42_2.21-3.dsc' failed.
