I want to bring bug #61668 to your attention. I've fixed the symtom, but
not really fixed the problem.

It seems that if a .orig.tar.gz unpacks into a directory that is mode 555,
dpkg-source then bombs.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/tmp/f>apt-get source xtet42
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
Need to get 0B/40.8kB of source archives.
dpkg-source: extracting xtet42 in xtet42-2.21
dpkg-source: failure: unable to rename
`xtet42-2.21.orig.tmp-nest/xtet42-2.21.orig' to `xtet42-2.21.orig':
Permission denied
Unpack command 'dpkg-source -x xtet42_2.21-3.dsc' failed.
E: Child process failed

I wonder if dpkg-source ought to handle this better.
