I just tried to apt-get upgrade my Woody system (last upgrade
was probably a week ago). debconf now refuses to be configured,
complaining of a missing "value" routine in Question.pm.

So, I removed debconf entirely (ignoring dependencies),
downloaded debconf_0.4.02.deb off the FTP site, and tried

        vesper:/home/bronson# dpkg --install debconf_0.4.02.deb
(Reading database ... 51126 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace debconf 0.4.02 (using debconf_0.4.02.deb) ...
grep: Debian::DebConf: No such file or directory
        Unpacking replacement debconf ...
        Setting up debconf (0.4.02) ...
Can't locate object method "value" via package
"Debian::DebConf::Question" at /usr/lib/perl5/Debconf/Config.pm line 31.
        dpkg: error processing debconf (--install):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 255
        Errors were encountered while processing:
         debconf

Now I don't know what to do. It won't install itself. How can I fix
this?

Thanks,

        - Scott
