It looks like your terminal is broken. The windows telnet command
isn't known to be the best..., you should probably give putty a try,
it's an ssh clone for windows, and hence will encrypt the session
and don't expose your password anymore. It should have a saner
terminal emulation as well. You'll find it by using google.
