Package: dpkg Severity: wishlist When passing --debug <n>, there should be another option to have all output produced by the debug calls go to a separate file/descriptor. This is so that it doesn't clutter the main output.
Obviously, this should not be used if trying to track down an assert or segfault or whathave you.
