Obviously with somthing like dpkg (of all things!) we expect the authors to check the available namespace before creating conflicting binaries. How long has the dpkg-iasearch package been in existence anyway, 2.5 years now? -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1332 Jan 16 2000 /usr/share/doc/dpkg-iasearch/README.Debian Please rename your binaries to things that don't already exist on Debian machines. This was such a simple thing to check, it is shocking to find that no one bothered, for such a central package, before uploading it. -- System Information Debian Release: 3.0 Kernel Version: Linux phoenix 2.4.18 #1 Sun Mar 3 20:15:51 UTC 2002 i586 unknown Versions of the packages dpkg depends on: ii libc6 2.2.5-7 GNU C Library: Shared libraries and Timezone ii libncurses5 5.2.20020112a- Shared libraries for terminal handling ii libstdc++2.10- 2.95.4-9 The GNU stdc++ library -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
