Package: dpkg Version: 1.10.4 Severity: wishlist Functionality equivalent to RPM's -y parametre would be most useful.
RPM keeps an MD5 of all installed files, along with other metadata (size, permissions, etc.). This can then be compared with the actual installed files with rpm -y. Equivalent functionality in dpkg would not be difficult; a new database would be required, with the file metadata, and a wrapper around all installation/uninstallation/upgrade filesystem accesses would need to be instated. -- System Information Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux nemo 2.4.17 #2 Fri Jun 7 23:16:08 PDT 2002 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C Versions of packages dpkg depends on: ii dselect 1.10.4 a user tool to manage Debian packa ii libc6 2.2.5-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an
