Package: dpkg Version: 1.9.21 Severity: normal Woody
In a newly installed debian system, there is a /usr/info/dir file, but there is not a /usr/share/info/dir. Policy does not say anything at all about /usr/info (section 13.2); it only mentions /usr/share/info. I think that a fixed install-info should be put into woody updates and on upgrade it should move the physical dir file into /usr/share/info, then make a compatibility symlink at /usr/info/dir. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux bittersweet 2.4.18.5-smp #1 SMP Wed Aug 7 12:55:10 PDT 2002 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C Versions of packages dpkg depends on: ii dselect 1.10.4 a user tool to manage Debian packa ii libc6 2.2.5-12 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an -- no debconf information
