Package: dpkg
Version: 1.4.0.5
yesterday i was installing a news debian 1.2/1.3 system.
with "find -type f -name *.deb |xargs dpkg -iGOEB" i got all files to
install (dselect is using dpkg -iGROEB, but i had some bad symlinks,
and dpkg refuses to install anything (ARG)).
when the dialog cam up to ask me witch languages to include into tex
hyphens, i couldn't do anything (dialog didn't respond to the keyboard).
i had to switch to a diffrent vt and kill dialog :-(((
---
somehow /usr/lib/X11 is a directory, not a symlink to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11
... is this bug related to dpkg (bad order of packages) ?
---
i hat to deselect those "recommended" packages i don't want to install
everytime, but more anoying is it when one of them gets selected by
accident, and when i deselect a "recommended" package, all packages
"recommending" it also get deselectet...
it's ok for me to show : "Stop ! this package is recommended by severall
other packages <list>", but don't deselect the other packages !
regards andreas

Looks like this bug from the year 1996 was left open
by mistake. Closing.
