Package: dpkg Version: 1.10.9 Severity: serious Right now, coreutils replaces debianutils (<= 2.3.1). However, if I try to install both packages simultaneously (e.g. using debootstrap), or try to reinstall debianutils, I get:
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/debianutils_2.3.1_i386.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite `/bin/readlink', which is also in package coreutils To beat you with the almighty stick that is Policy (7.5.1): If an installed package, foo say, declares that it replaces another, bar, and an attempt is made to install bar, dpkg will discard files in the bar package which would overwrite those already present in foo.
