Package: dpkg Version: 1.9.21 Severity: normal File: /usr/sbin/dpkg-statoverride
On a particular system, I couldn't work out why my overrides were not working, until I saw this: scrooge:~# dpkg-statoverride --list /var/run/amavis/ root root 755 /var/run/amavis/ scrooge:~# dpkg-statoverride --list /var/run/amavis mail mail 0755 /var/run/amavis IMHO dpkg-statoverride should not allow entry of the first value, or at least strip the trailing / first. Having two values for one directory only makes things confusing. -- System Information Debian Release: 3.0 Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux snoopy 2.4.19 #1 Wed Oct 30 11:36:54 EST 2002 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE= Versions of packages dpkg depends on: ii libc6 2.2.5-11.2 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libncurses5 5.2.20020112a-7 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2 1:2.95.4-11woody1 The GNU stdc++ library
