Package: dpkg Version: 1.10.10 Severity: normal When running update-alternatives with cwd as a directory that root cannot write to (e.g. an NFS mount with root_squash) update-alternatives --install fails with an "mv: permission denied" and "Invalid Cross Device Link" error. It seems it tries to write to the cwd briefly.
