Debian bug #180127 filed Feb 7 2003Gnu extended the info dir format and the install-info script included in dpkg can not handle the new information. This leads to a number of coreutils utilities not being found in the info directory.
Why does dpkg have its own version of install-info? Is there some reason it can't just be dropped in favor of gnu's version?
