Hi all, First of all I'm happy to note that the debdelta repository/service has been up most of the time. While that is good but for sometime now I have seen that sometimes while doing a debdelta upgrade its unable to find some deltas. Why is that ?
For e.g. $ sudo debdelta-upgrade acpid binutils binutils-dev gnome-disk-utility grub-common grub-pc grub-pc-bin grub2-common jigdo-file libdc1394-22 libfluidsynth1 libgdu-gtk0 libgdu0 libgudev-1.0-0 libperl5.12 librdf0 libudev0 libuniconf4.6 libwvstreams4.6-base libwvstreams4.6-extras libxml-parser-perl luatex min12xxw perl perl-base perl-modules sqlitebrowser sun-java6-bin sun-java6-jre udev Delta is not present: gnome-disk-utility_2.30.1-2_2.32.0-1_amd64.debdelta Delta is not present: libdc1394-22_2.1.3-1_2.1.3-3_amd64.debdelta Delta is not present: libgdu-gtk0_2.30.1-2_2.32.0-1_amd64.debdelta Delta is not present: libgdu0_2.30.1-2_2.32.0-1_amd64.debdelta Created, time 9.76sec, speed 407kB/sec, binutils-dev_2.21.51.20110421-6_amd64.deb Created, time 0.44sec, speed 211kB/sec, grub-pc_1.99-4_amd64.deb Created, time 1.37sec, speed 580kB/sec, grub-pc-bin_1.99-4_amd64.deb Created, time 0.21sec, speed 442kB/sec, grub2-common_1.99-4_amd64.debDelta is not present: libgudev-1.0-0_168-2_169-1_amd64.debdelta Delta is not present: libperl5.12_5.12.3-6_5.12.3-7_amd64.debdelta Delta is not present: libudev0_168-2_169-1_amd64.debdelta Delta is not present: libuniconf4.6_4.6.1-1_4.6.1-2_amd64.debdelta Delta is not present: libwvstreams4.6-base_4.6.1-1_4.6.1-2_amd64.debdelta Delta is not present: libwvstreams4.6-extras_4.6.1-1_4.6.1-2_amd64.debdelta Delta is not present: libxml-parser-perl_2.40-1_2.40-2_amd64.debdelta Delta is not present: luatex_0.70.0-1_0.70.1-1_amd64.debdelta Delta is not present: perl_5.12.3-6_5.12.3-7_amd64.debdelta Delta is not present: perl-base_5.12.3-6_5.12.3-7_amd64.debdelta Delta is not present: perl-modules_5.12.3-6_5.12.3-7_all.debdelta Delta is not present: sun-java6-bin_6.25-2_6.25-3_amd64.debdelta Delta is not present: udev_168-2_169-1_amd64.debdelta Downloaded, time 0.17sec, speed 8kB/sec, min12xxw_0.0.9-3_0.0.9-4_amd64.debdelta Downloaded, time 0.20sec, speed 41kB/sec, acpid_1%3a2.0.9-1_1%3a2.0.10-1_amd64.debdelta Downloaded, time 0.20sec, speed 42kB/sec, sun-java6-jre_6.25-2_6.25-3_all.debdelta Created, time 0.47sec, speed 99kB/sec, min12xxw_0.0.9-4_amd64.deb Downloaded, time 0.21sec, speed 50kB/sec, grub-common_1.99-3_1.99-4_amd64.debdelta Created, time 0.56sec, speed 91kB/sec, acpid_1%3a2.0.10-1_amd64.deb Downloaded, time 6.53sec, speed 5152B/sec, sqlitebrowser_2.0.0~beta1+ds.1-1_2.0.0~beta1+ds.1-2_amd64.debdelta Downloaded, time 1.70sec, speed 27kB/sec, binutils_2.21.51.20110421-5_2.21.51.20110421-6_amd64.debdelta Created, time 8.38sec, speed 738kB/sec, sun-java6-jre_6.25-3_all.deb Error: applying of delta for grub-common failed: : localepurge removed 17 files. For e.g. a. Delta is not present: gnome-disk-utility_2.30.1-2_2.32.0-1_amd64.debdelta As can be seen quite a few debdeltas are not present, cannot understand why ? apt-show-versions shows it is from the debian repository :- $ apt-show-versions -a gnome-disk-utility gnome-disk-utility 2.30.1-2 install ok installed gnome-disk-utility 2.30.1-2 stable ftp.us.debian.org gnome-disk-utility 2.30.1-2 testing ftp.us.debian.org gnome-disk-utility 2.32.0-1 sid ftp.us.debian.org gnome-disk-utility 3.0.0-2 experimental ftp.us.debian.org gnome-disk-utility/sid upgradeable from 2.30.1-2 to 2.32.0-1 b. Error: applying of delta for jigdo-file failed: : localepurge removed 1 files. (non retriable) I *see* that somehow localepurge and debdeltas do not seem to play together nicely. Any comments on that ? Lastly I'm on debdelta 0.41 $ apt-show-versions -a debdelta debdelta 0.41 install ok installed debdelta 0.39trl stable ftp.us.debian.org debdelta 0.41 testing ftp.us.debian.org debdelta 0.41 sid ftp.us.debian.org debdelta 0.42exp experimental ftp.us.debian.org debdelta/testing uptodate 0.41 Looking forward for comments and information on the same. -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal शिरीष अग्रवाल My quotes in this email licensed under CC 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com 065C 6D79 A68C E7EA 52B3 8D70 950D 53FB 729A 8B17 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
