You have accumulated a lot of fixes and changes in the 1.17.x branch and it would be nice to have this branch public so that you're not the only one who can work on 1.17.x material and so that we can test and review your work. I understand that you don't want to push it to master yet, but you could push it to a jessie branch in the mean time (even if you do not promise to not rebase it, that's fine for me).
