dpkg --verify-online !!! Tip: dpkg improvements for verifying files
An option for dpkg to retrieve fresh md5sums directly from mirror servers, could be necessary for systems that have suffered an alteration of installed packages and alterations of their correspondent checksums stored at dpkg info folder. Also, it's time for the checksums to be SHA256, at least. These improvements could help detecting and alerting of functional modified packages. (wan't some of them? help us found where are these modifications!) Changing from MD5SUM to SHA256 sounds as easy as neccessary. Regards Vira Design
