I realise that a good switch might well be able to do this but my impression is that Skolelinux should have as few expensive hardware requirements as possible.
Beware! Not requiring decent hardware almost encourages the use of crappy hardware, which will cause a lot of grief, and be a great time sink. Such time sinks tend to cost more than the money saved at the time of purchase.
