My locales and console keyboard are set to fr and this utility give me
that configuration:
KEYBOARD MODEL:
KEYBOARD LAYOUT: us
KEYBOARD RULES: xfree86
For azerty fr keyboard layout, KEYBOARD LAYOUT value would be fr.

The new version of xdebconfigurator (1.02) does not set the
keyboard layout. As Petter says, this should be handled by
locale-config-skolelinux when it's ready.
