Me, too! If you want to stick to official Debian, you can't use Java for anything serious, really! To use e.g. Tomcat (a Java web server) you need JDK; JRE won't do. And the Java packages in Debian stable are truly ancient. You pretty much have to use unofficial packages, or forego anything more involved than running Java applets. -- Herman Robak
