I can CONFIRM that this problem still/also ecxist in:
skolelinux-i386-rc1.iso (20040424)
The only workaround was to:
<ALT> <F2>
Login as root...
mount /dev/cdrom /cdrom
<ALT> <F1>
Hit <CR> (...and THEN it continued as expected!)
