we are having severe difficulties adding Win2k/XP clients to the domain. While this worked just fine for pre46 with Maximilian Wilhelm's solution from http://debian.rfc3514.org, from pre47 onwards it doesn't.
We're getting the same error message as reported in http://bugs.skolelinux.no/show_bug.cgi?id=737 - some digging in LDAP with slapcat revealed that smbadmin is missing there. Since we're not very familiar with LDAP, we haven't started further investigations.
So, our question is, if anyone is currently working or has worked on this problem and found a solution. Is this problem important to others as well?
Some background: Our group is testing Skolelinux as a new standard server solution for schools in Hamburg. We successfully installed pre46 in a test lab, and now we are having problems of adding the WinXP clients to the domain in the test school. This is a very severe problem, because we have to give a presentation of Skolelinux on May 27th, and there will be some decision people whom we'll have to convince of Skolelinux. This won't work if we can't set up the reference network.
Any help will be appreciated.
