An amount of it is based on Ragnar's previous document (particularly the part on what to include which is a copy & paste). I wasn't too clear on exactly how to explain which BTS is correct as there was some disagreement. I'm also not clear how a non-expert easily tells which archive a piece of software came from. Is there some incantation to dpkg or apt which would show this? So the line: So how the **** do I tell where it came from? is to be replaced with the answer in due course.
