We most certainly would prefer to use the same OpenOffice version as the rest of the Debian project. Building OOo is a lot of work, and I believe it is better to spend the time working with the OOo builders in Debian instead of trying to duplicate the effort with a slightly different environment. As for Java, I suspect the best long term solution is to improve the free Java implementations to a point where they are usable with OOo. I have no idea how much work that is. Until that is done, I suspect we should make due without java support in OOo. If you want to help the Debian Java people improve the state of Java in Debian, check out <URL:http://java.debian.net/index.php/MovingJavaToMain> and join the mailing lists and IRC channels. I'm sure there is work enough for everyone. :) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
