Keep in in mind that the goals of each are not necessarily the same. While Tux Typing is an amusing game for children that helps them pick up some familiarity with the keyboard at the same time, I would hardly classify it as a typing tutor along with the others. Also, notably missing from the above is my package, GNU Typist (gtypist). I believe some effort has been made so that GNU Typist can use ktouch lessons. I haven't seen anything new in free software typing tutors in some time. Here's a list that the GNU Typist project put together. I don't know how up-to-date it is: http://www.gnu.org/software/gtypist/gtypist.html#others For Debian Jr.'s needs, at least for the younger children, which is our core area of focus, I believe Gcompris + Tux Typing are all we really need. I know I have tipptrainer, typespeed and xletters in there, but I have never observed any children actually using these, so unless someone can produce evidence for the value of continuing to include these, I will drop them from junior-typing. The others may have a place in debian-edu. Ben -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
