------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2005-06-13 16:18 ------- As you stated, with Woody async is default, with Sarge sync is default. In the man pages (an a sarge system), it's stated that "async This option allows the NFS server to violate the NFS protocol and reply to requests before any changes made by that request have been committed to stable storage (e.g. disc drive). Using this option usually improves performance, but at the cost that an unclean server restart (i.e. a crash) can cause data to be lost or corrupted." For me this sounds like the most secure solution is to have sync, and location that have a knowledge of what they are doing can change this them self. By not specifying anyting, the new debian-edu-sarge version have been running with sync as default until now. For me the bug was posible to close by adding this three words in the cf.homes. If you think its more correct to have async instead. I have no objections to that. But we should have one of them. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
