After a while of working with the fresh installed system i noticed that there
was no device /dev/fd0.
I started modconf and installed modul floppy.
modconf succseeded and created /dev/fd0
# dmesg
...
inserting floppy driver for 2.6.8-2-386
Floppy drive(s): fd0 is 1.44M
FDC 0 is a National Semiconductor PC87306
